Michael Jackson tribute concert in Vienna

On the 26 September Vienna is the place to be. In front of the imperial Schönbrunn palace the official Michael Jackson tribute concert will take place to honour the king of pop.

The Tribute

„The concept of the Tribute is that some of the world‘s leading artists will perform Michael Jackson‘s greatest hits live on stage in an imperial setting, befitting the King of Pop.”, is postet on the official website www.tribute2009.com. Michael’s brother Jermaine Jackson will be presenting this outrageous event and will also be performing.

Tickets sale

85.000 tickets are available. Sale started on the 20 August at 5pm. The named website is at first the only place to get them. Other stores to buy the tickets are not known yet. The only thing that seems certain is that the tickets will be sold out soon because of the huge demand. The biggest ticket offices in Austria already have long waiting lists. When the sale started the server collapsed because of a million people wanting to get a ticket at the same time. The cheap ones cost € 60,- but that does not keep the people from buying. Anyway the biggest part of the earnings is said to be donated.

If you still don’t have a ticket you need not loose hope. There will be two more opportunities to buy them. Furthermore the possibility of public viewing is considered.

Lineup

Until now nobody knows which stars will perform at the show. The expectations are really high since Madonna, Lionel Ritchie and U2 are likely candidates. The secret will be unveiled in the next days at a press conference in Vienna.
