Klagenfurts climate is a temperate continental climate with an average temperature of about 24°C, occasionally going up to 35°C. Of all Austrian cities, Klagenfurt has the highest number of hours of sunshine a day, which makes it the ideal place for a summer holiday. As opposed to the rest of Austria, it is also very windless. Due to this fact, the water temperature of the Lake Wörthersee is very delightful and can go up to 25°C and even warmer near the waterfront. The water is only getting chillier at the end of September. Despite the moderate climate, pack a coat or pullover – you never know.
