Vienna has a rather mild continental climate. The average temperature in summer lies around  24°C at daytime. Sometimes the temperature also goes up to 35°C. In Vienna the wind is a steady companion. On the one hand that’s very refreshing, on the other it may sometimes get cold in the evening. You should think of a jacket or a sweater if you want to go for a late walk. Given you forgot to take something with you on your stroll through the city centre - no problem, the hotel is near enough to go and fetch it quickly.

Salzburg

The city Salzburg lies in the north of the Alps and therefore has a moderate and warm but rainy climate. Temperatures at daytime of 23°C on average provide for a warm and convenient summer - the perfect premise for an adventurous sightseeing tour. You should, however, bargain for the famous “Salzburger Schnürlregen” which is a kind of “string rain” that is known to break in on tourists and inhabitants all of a sudden. Nevertheless don`t hesitate to go for a walk because it tends to end as unforeseen as it starts and the beautiful city presents itself whitewashed in spectacular sunlight.
