Hot in the city? What about some ice cream?
Here are our favourite ice cream parlours ("Eissalon") in Vienna:
This small salon is very popular and always crowded but worth to risk a few minutes waiting time. Small seating area outside
It‘ hard to walk down Mariahilfer Straße without eating Bortolotti ice cream. Big salons with large seating areas outside. Perfect for a little rest to observe the Viennese shopping crowd.
Mariahilferstraße 22, 66 und 94
Always crowded. Always delicious. An ice-cream hotspot next to St.Stephans.
Eissalon Tichy is a place you have to visit on purpose, you will not pass by accidentally. The huge salon is not in the centre but easy to reach with Underground U1, exit Reumannplatz. Mr. Tichy invented the famous Icecreamdumplings, which are exported all over the world. Tichy is tradition. Highest ice cream standard. A delicious and everlasting legend.
Very popular ice cream salon, always crowded but once you give it a try, you will know why.

One of Vienna’s most popular representative’s of the new ice-cream generation: all natural ingredients and apart from evergreens like fruit or chocolate a nice variety in icecream which goes beyond the ususal. Goat cheese, Pumpkinseedoil, Pistaccio with Salt are not at all the usual. At least not in Vienna.
Rotenturmstrasse 14, 1010 Wien
Mariahilfer Straße 33, 1070 Wien
Real italians make real italian icecream with real natural ingredients. As simple and delicious as that.
