Numerous open-air cinemas allover Vienna open their "garden gates" in summer for you! From June 30th to September 2nd 2012, there is the Music Film Festival in front of the Town Hall of Vienna. Arts, culture and culinary delights can be enjoyed every day. From 9.30 p.m. cultural movies like operas, dance movies, ballets, world music or jazz productions are shown. Vienna again proofs to be the world capital of music. Enjoy culinary delights from all over the world in front of the unique ambience of the gothic City Hall. The admission is free.
Vienna – Volxkino
Enjoy watching movies in unconventional corners of Vienna – by attending the wandering cinema Volxkino. Movies are shown at, unusual places for cinemas, f.e. market squares, parks, on community building-walls and much more. Exciting locations are waiting to be explored form June 5th to September 21st 2012. More than 60 award-winning European films or well-known Hollywood productions are shown. Open Air Cinema Salzburg
Already for the 10th time the film festival Akzente takes place from the 1st to the 22nd August in Salzburg. Every Wednesday from 9 p.m. onwards cinematic highlights can be enjoyed. International movies as well as Austrian production can be enjoyed by free admission. F.e. the movie "Almanya" can be enjoyed – telling the story of a Turkish migrant worker family living in Germany.
Open Air Cinema Klagenfurt
The picturesque setting of the castle courtyard in the center of Klagenfurt is a wonderful film set. At this location even a warm summer rain doesn’t matter – thanks to the arcade seating’s. The carefully selected program turns this event into a real cultural highlight of Klagenfurt. The program includes silent movies as well as classical movies like “La vita è bella” or current European and Austrian productions.
