You love the Sound of Music? Then follow us, we’ll visit the locations in Salzburg where the movie was filmed. Salzburg without “The Sound of Music” would be like Mozart without music – unthinkable.
The sets from the movie are not far away and can be easily explored by foot. Good that the AllYouNeed Hotel Salzburg has such a fantastic location…
Let’s go!
Mirabell Gardens and Mirabell Palace
Remember „Do-Re-Mi“? It was sung here.
Residence Square and Fountain
Maria sings „I have confidence in me“ and crosses the square.
Felsenreitschule
Time for the farewell song „Edelweißlied“.
The Benedictine Convent on Nonnberg
The nuns sung here „Maria“.
St. Peter‘s Cemetery
One of the dramatic scenes was filmed here. The St. Peter’s Cemetery is one of the oldest cemeteries in the world!
There were also a few locations outside the city: Frohnburg castle and Leopoldskron castle, the Salzkammergut (Fuschl, St. Gilgen and St. Wolfgang), Mondsee (the church, the monastery, Unterach)
