Tired of the beautiful sights in Vienna? Well, then it’s time for some quirky stuff…
Torture museum Vienna
The museum is underground, located in an old bunker from the 2nd world war. With an exhibition space of 800m² the museum documents gruel punishment through the years. Horror-movie lovers will have a blast, all others will leave with goosebumps…
Der Narrenturm - "Fool's Tower"
The fortress-like round building was 1784 the first institution erected only for “lunatics ”. As you can imagine, treatment was not very humanitarian. Questionable methods, such as diets, occasional bloodletting, laxatives, cold showers, ice water enemas, and hydro-therapy were applied. Today it’s part of the Museum of Natural History and contains a pathological-anatomical collection.
The architecture of the round building is unique and worth a visit. Our insider tip!

Madame Tussauds Vienna
Oh yes, „Madame Tussauds“ is quirky. Taking selfies with celebrity lookalikes made out of wax is kind of weird (but quite entertaining). If the weather is good, you can visit the real “Prater” afterwards…
