Motorway:

A1 coming from Wien/Linz
Exit the motorway at Salzburg Nord (Exit 288) towards Stadtmitte onto Vogelweider Straße. Follow this street straight ahead until you reach its end, then turn right onto Schallmooser Hauptstraße. Turn left at the next traffic light and then again right before the “Linzer Garage“ to get onto Glockengasse. Follow this street until you reach the hotel‘s barrier and ring the “Hotel“-bell to open it.

A1 coming from München/Innsbruck/Villach
Exit the motorway at Salzburg Mitte (Exit 292) to get onto Ignaz-Harrer-Straße. Follow this street over Lehnerbrücke (bridge) onto Saint-Julien-Straße and then turn right into Rainerstraße. Next turn left into Auerspergstraße, cross Schallmoser Hauptstraße and then turn right before you reach the “Linzer Garage” to get onto Glockengasse. Follow this street until you reach the hotel‘s barrier and ring the “Hotel“-bell to open it.


From the airport Salzburg:

Take the Obus line 2 heading towards Salzburg Obernigl and get off at Wolf-Dietrich Straße. If you look against the direction of the traffic you can see Wolf-Dietrich Straße, turn left and follow this street until you reach Linzer Gasse. W. A. Mozart's Birthplace

Who wants to follow the footsteps of "Wolferl", has to come here. Mozart spent his childhood on the 3rd floor of the "Hagenauer house". It is a must-see for every real Mozart fan. Currently it is a museum, exhibiting musical instruments, original furniture and personal possession of the musical genius.

Stone Alley – "Steingasse"

Through the ancient stone gate you can get an idea of Salzburg in medieval times. The Steingasse, over centuries the most important transportation route for the "white gold from the mountains", is special through its historical flair. Take a look at house Nr. 9 – the birthplace of Joseph More, poet of the world famous Christmas song "Silent Night, Holy Night".

Hiking in the middle of the city: "Kapuzinerberg"

The Linzer alley is the door to the mountain within the city – the Kapuzinerberg. The hike is not too exhausting, but the reward is a fantastic view over the ancient city of Salzburg, the "Mönchberg" (Monk mountain) and the Hohensalzburg Fortress!

If that was not enough for you, the walk continues to the "Franziski-Schlössel", a small fortress with drawbridge, where the beer garden invites you for relaxation and traditional Salzburger cuisine is served.

Climbing in the middle oft he city: „City-Wall Kapuzinerberg“

Good news for sporty travellers – the fixed rope route „City-Wall“ at the Kapuzinerberg has been reopened. And the best part: it‘s entry point is directly in the Glockengasse, close to the AllYouNeed Hotel Salzburg***. Besides a 130 m long rather difficult level-E-route there is now also a second easier route that ranges from levels A to C. An alpine-style via ferrata in the middle of the city – that’s what we call unique!


There is no entry fee and you climb at your own risk. The entrance key can be picked up next door from the Akzente Salzburg office, directly from the Naturfreunde Salzburg office or (if manned) from the staff at the carpark Linzer Gasse. All you need is an hour time, your own equipment and a great deal of strength – at least if you choose the more difficult route which dispite the short distance should only be climed by experienced climbers. At the end of the route your endurance will be rewarded with a fantastic view over Salzburg.

Access: The route starts behind the fence on the right side of the entrance of the carpark Linzer Gasse.
Decsent: After finishing the route turn right onto Kapuzinerbergweg and then turn right again to walk down Linzer Gasse until you reach the access-point.

Palace of Mirabell

In former days it was a royal residence, now it is the place of the mayor and also a well-known place for events. The romantic Palace of Mirabell is another must-see during your stay in Salzburg!

Mirabell Garden & Outdoor Theater

The dream of the baroque architect Johann Fischer von Erlach and one of the most beautiful parks in Europe. Fantastic floral design, antique deities, "Munchkin" and winding paths await you. At the Pegasus fountain in the center of the garden the Trapp family has already been singing a serenade! Anyone in the mood for more music is advised to find its way through the hedge maze which ends up at the hedge theater: here you can relax in the shade or try your talent on the small stage, from time to time there are concerts of local bands and musicians.
